Henry Bathurst

Family
Henry Bathurst was the seventh son of Benjamin Bathurst. He married a daughter of Charles Coote, dean of Kilfenora, and his eldest son, Henry Bathurst--who was appointed archdeacon of Norwich in 1814--wrote the Memoirs of his father (1837), which were subsequently rewritten by his eldest daughter, Mrs. Thistlethwayte (1853).
Education
He was educated at Winchester and New College, Oxford.
Church Appointments and Service
In 1775, he was appointed canon of Christ Church, Oxford. In 1795, he was made prebendary of Durham. He was consecrated bishop of Norwich in 1805.
